DMR : SKS

DMRs are all kit weapons, so like carbines, they can be used by all 4 classes. DMRs are most effective when used in medium to long range engagements, and are rather ineffective at close range. The best DMR in class is the SKS. The SKS is of Russian design that dates back to World War II. The SKS in-game has been heavily modernized. It features a full synthetic body, a sliding M4 style stock and detachable AK-style magazines. What s

makes the SKS so special is its high rate of fire, coming in at 333 rounds per minute, making this DMR rather effective at closer ranges, which almost all of the DMRs lack in. The SKS holds 20+1 in the chamber, which will also help in closer range engagements if there is more than one enemy. The SKS also has better hipfire and moving accuracy when compared to most of the DMRs in its class. However, the SKS has a reduced damage model when compared to other DMRs, coming in at 43 damage out to 8 meters and 34 damage out to 60 meters. This isn’t much of a problem as it will still kill enemies within 3 shots like all the other DMRs, unless you are shooting at a player at 60 meters with the defensive field upgrade, which will require a 4 shot kill.. The SKS has slow reload times of 2.3 seconds when there is a bullet in the chamber and 3.5 when it is empty. The SKS doesn’t perform as well at range when compared to other DMRs due to its decreased ADS accuracy and lower range minimum damage, as a player with the defensive perk will require 4 shots to kill. My preferred load for the SKS is a 1x optic (I use the kobra sight), no barrel attachment, a laser sight and an angled/folding grip to help reduce the recoil of most of its shots due to it being semi-automatic.

LMG : M249/MG4 Light machine guns are the support specific weapons and are effective at medium to long range. They lose effectiveness at closer ranges due to their long reload times and horrible hip fire accuracy. The best LMGs in class are the M249/MG4. I listed both these guns because they are essentially the same gun with the only difference being slightly different recoil patterns. The M249 is of Belgian design and is based on the Fabrique Nationale Minimi. The M249 is the standard light machine gun and squad automatic weapon for the US Army. The MG4 is of German design. The MG4 is the successor to the German Bundswehr’s MG3 machine guns. The M249/MG4 have average damage models of 24.5 damage out to 8 meters and 18 damage out to 65 meters. What both these guns excel in is sustained fire. Both LMGs have very low recoil, have fire rates of 800 rounds per minute and have 200 round box magazines. The downsides to both these LMGs are their long reloads of 6.2 seconds with both tactical and empty reloads and terrible hip fire. I Run these LMGs with 1x optics (Holographic on the M249 and Reflex on the MG4), a laser sight, flash hider and a bipod.
